A Better Boudoir
3.25.2008
Seems everything is painted these days and the trend is looking very European and a little more polished than the rougher style of the past. At the moment, I am working on bedroom furniture for a couple of clients and I've found some refreshing colors (and of course the much-loved crean and white) for inspiration online.... PLEASE note: I'm just getting the blogging thing down and you may have to "scroll" a bit as you read this and forgive the change in typestyle! Maybe you, too, will begin thinking about the possible transformations in your own bedroom....
Pretty bedroom storage ~ change the dark wood to serene white and it's completely different ....
This French blue is really great, particularly in bedrooms,as it is pretty, unexpected, and goes well with everything. Fun in teenage girls' rooms.
LOVING the blue and rougher texture of chest above and great-looking black on the bed below!
Pretty mint green on the inside, gives a hip edge to a charming bookcase perfect for a bedroom.

Classic Norwegian colors and original paint on this nineteenth century secretary.
Yellow is fresh~ this secretary is glazed and antiqued tobacco, adding depth and sophistication. The Queen Anne legs give the piece more formality too. Sometimes the best outcomes are those pieces with unexpected color.......I've found that adding a little "wear" and wash of a deeper hue over the clearer color gives a great look.

The green mirror is so beautiful. Also loved the post on Mirella Ricciardi.
